Yury Arabov

Yury Arabov – Renown Russian scriptwriter, prose writer, poet, publicist, and honored professional of the arts of Russia. He is the author of scripts of more than 15 films produced in Russian film studios and is frequent co-author of Alexander Sokurov, with which he wrote tens of scripts.
Arabov is winner of the Cannes film festival prize for the script of the film “Molok” (1999). Often addresses the plots of the “silver age” and of the modern epoch. A well-known example of his mystical thrillers is “Mister Designer ” (1988). One of the organizers of the informal club ” Poetry ” in Moscow (1986), he is winner of the Pasternak prize (2005). Since 1992, he manages the faculty of film-dramatic art in VGIKe.
